Our Programs

Women Palante’s programs are unique because they are specifically designed to address the needs of Latina women and mothers. The programming is available in Spanish and English, open to applicants with any immigration status, and include wellness, and personal development components for a comprehensive holistic approach.

Our Business Incubators

Mompreneurs

This is Women Palante’s flagship program, a business incubator to teach Latina mothers how to implement business and management tools for the development, consolidation, sustainability and/or growth of their business, while also learning how to take care of themselves and their families. This program is offered exclusively to Latina moms in English or Spanish.  The next cohort will begin on January 8, 2025.

The Mompreneurs program is conducted through several modules of business education training, which includes weekly virtual live sessions. Each module is combined with educational workshops on wellness, addressing a variety of topics related to women’s motherhood and most importantly, the ways in which working mothers can manage their wellness while still taking care of their families and their businesses. The program offers childcare for our Science- based Wellbeing in person classes.

In addition, students will have 6 hours of individual and group support to further refine and develop key components of their project, such as: business costs; design and creation of a business plan and pitch, marketing, and business habits.

Our curriculum is based on a coherent sequence of business, wellness and personal development concepts. Through Women Palante’s Mompreneurs participating women will gain education, mentorship, guidance, and access to a growing and supportive community. The women will be accompanied through the process of establishing their own businesses and also finding capital to support them as they reach for their dreams and for those of their children.

Our Women Palante Community

At Women Palante, we understand that Latina women can often feel isolated in their struggles. Throughout the year, we organize events that bring together women and mothers, both current members and previous participants, to foster and encourage an inclusive and supportive environment. This space is conducive to a shared pursuit of passions through career advancement, community service, or personal development. Annual events include:

  • Women Palante events: Events can be virtual or in-person, depending on the current environment. Special days that are observed include: International Women’s Day (March 8), Dance-a-Thon (May – coincides with most Mother’s Day celebrations in theAmericas); Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (November 19).
  • Events by moms for moms: The organization is also supportive of self-organized events by the participants, if they want to get together and organize an event.

Through our virtual formats and with improvements in technology, the Women Palante community has become a global one - connecting Latina women and moms from across the Washington D.C. metro area as well as across the Americas. Women Palante will have its own online community platform, where members will be able to network with one another, chat and communicate, create groups and posts, and access the online courses and content. This platform will facilitate the online community building and help to build bridges across the Americas for women and mothers to learn from one another. Through its online programs, the organization has the possibility to even expand globally.

Mompreneurs Fellowship Program

After the culmination of the business incubator, moms will have the opportunity to participate in a six-month fellowship program to continue their well-being and business journey with coaching and mentoring support for life and professional development. Through this program, moms continue to have access to the community and events, fostering an inclusive and supportive community that connects current and previous participants.
