Women Palante believes in a Science-based Wellbeing Approach to entrepreneurship, encouraging and empowering Latina women and moms with business ideas to pursue their dreams, while building and honing their business acumen as well as achieving key wellness and personal development goals. We also provide a space for women and moms to connect with other like-minded women, in a bilingual and inclusive environment, to learn from and support one another on their respective journeys.
All of our classes are science-based. We base our classes in neuroscience, psychology, education, and how we can improve those psychological and emotional factors to actually push themselves and build that trust in themselves that they need to help in order to become successful in this area.
Women Palante serve populations with systemic inequities in wellbeing. All of our programs has and are aligned business with wellbeing and support the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)
Science-based Wellbeing Approach
At Women Palante, we adopt a science-based approach to wellbeing that is tailored for Latina women, primarily mothers, centered around three core pillars: mental balance & grit, emotional regulation & resilience, and comprehensive physical health. By incorporating insights from neuroscience, psychology, and mindfulness, we empower women to achieve transformative life changes.
Mental Balance & Grit: Our program fosters an empowerment mindset that promotes both mental harmony and perseverance. Participants learn to cultivate a neutral mind, reducing negative or limiting beliefs through self-control techniques and habit-building practices. By breaking past patterns and adopting new ways of thinking, participants enhance their creativity and problem-solving abilities. We integrate neuroscience research, meditation, breathing exercises & mindfulness techniques. These empower participants with the vitality needed to lead a calmer, more fulfilling life, grounded in compassion for themselves and others.
Emotional Regulation & Resilience: Latina women are equipped with the skills to regulate their emotional responses, particularly stress, anxiety, and burnout, which are common challenges in their lives. Our program provides powerful tools and strategies to manage difficult emotions, enabling participants to transform their emotional reactions into habits that foster calmness and balance. By training the brain to handle these emotions effectively, we build emotional resilience that is crucial for maintaining mental health and achieving personal goals. Our focus on emotional regulation ensures that women can navigate life's challenges with confidence and clarity, creating a foundation for sustained wellbeing and success.
Physical Holistic Health: We provide specialized training and access to resources that address essential components of physical wellbeing. This includes tailored sessions on nutrition and optimal sleep hygiene practices. Additionally, participants engage in invigorating yoga, dance classes and the opportunity to participate in fitness challenges. Our approach goes beyond physical exercise by integrating education on brain health, ensuring participants care for their bodies, minds, and souls, ensuring comprehensive care that fosters overall health and vitality among Latina women.
Community
Meaningful Relationships: At Women Palante, we understand that depression and loneliness often stem from personal problems, trauma, financial constraints, and family issues, leaving many Latina women feeling isolated as they try to handle everything on their own. Our programs focus on community building, where women can find true support from one another. We create a safe and nurturing space where participants can share their experiences and offer mutual support in various areas of their lives. Through our programs, women develop meaningful relationships and a sense of sisterhood, knowing they are not alone in their journey. This strong community network helps them overcome challenges and thrive together.
Purpose & Contribution: Finding a purpose beyond professional goals and making meaningful contributions are essential for the well-being and success of Latina women. By helping them identify their unique strengths and passions, we enable them to grow their self-confidence. Our approach fosters a sense of belonging and significance, emphasizing virtues such as responsibility, nurturance, and altruism, which are crucial for personal growth and community well-being. In our supportive environment, women are encouraged to pursue their passions through career advancement, community service, or personal development, while supporting each other in these endeavors.
Inclusion and Diversity: We emphasize the importance of inclusivity by welcoming Latina women from all backgrounds. By integrating diverse perspectives and encouraging mutual support, we help women develop strong networks that can lead to personal and professional growth. Our commitment to diversity ensures that each woman feels seen and heard, contributing to a more inclusive society where all can thrive. Additionally, we provide access to external resources such as therapy, lending services, and cultural events, offering opportunities for women to integrate more fully into the community and explore new avenues for advancement.
Through a health equity lens, Women Palante provides Latina women with quality health care education and access, so they can experience an approach to wellbeing that is tailored to their needs and struggles. Through this education and practice, women build a stronger community on which they can rely for support. Combined with the business curriculum, our program helps strengthen four out of the five social determinants of health: health care access, quality education and access, social and community context, and economic stability. These efforts were nationally recognized by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute; Women Palante won the 2022 Pitch Competition that focused on addressing social determinants of health, health disparities, and inequities.
